Dial Amp / Calling setup

Record and assign a voicemail in Dial Amp

Create a personal voicemail recording in the library and choose it for a voicemail disposition button.

Calling setupAbout 6 minutesAgents can create and assign their own recordings; administrators can review the team library.

Purpose-built for Zoho CRM

What you’ll accomplish

The result

Create a recording first, then assign your own recording to a voicemail outcome in a disposition set. A recording in the library is not automatically attached to a button.

Before you begin

  • You can open Dial Amp settings and have microphone access if you plan to record in the browser.
  • Your organization has approved its recording and voicemail practices. Confirm any disclosure and privacy prerequisites with your organization before recording; this guide is software workflow guidance, not legal advice.
  • You know which voicemail outcome button your team uses.

Access to have ready

Use an account with permission to access the Zoho CRM records and Dial Amp settings needed for these steps. The right access depends on your organization’s setup; ask your CRM administrator if you’re unsure.

Step-by-step instructions

Work through the steps in order. Each number marks an action in this tutorial.

  1. Open the voicemail library

In Dial Amp, go to Settings → Dial Sessions → Voicemail, then click Add Voicemail. The New Voicemail dialog provides Browser and Upload tabs.

  2. Choose Browser or Upload

Choose Browser to record with an available microphone, or Upload to select an MP3, WAV, M4A, or OGG audio file. The implemented choices here are Browser and Upload.

    • For Browser, click the microphone control, speak your message, and click Stop when finished.
    • For Upload, choose a supported audio file from your device.

  3. Review the audio before saving

Play the recording to check that it is clear and complete. If needed, click Re-record and try again. For a file upload, confirm you selected the intended audio file.

  4. Name and save your voicemail

Enter a voicemail name in the dialog, then click Save. Confirm the recording appears in the Voicemail library before moving on.

  5. Assign your recording to a voicemail outcome

Go to Settings → Dial Sessions → Dispositions and open the set and voicemail outcome button you use. Expand the voicemail control, select Your Voicemail for This Button, then click Save.

This assigns your own personal recording to that button. It does not let you assign another agent’s personal recording, and saving the library item alone does not assign it.

You’re done when…

Check your result

  • The recording appears in your Voicemail library after Save.
  • The voicemail outcome button shows Your Voicemail for This Button after you save the disposition set.
  • You have tested the wording and audio before using it in a live session.

If something doesn’t look right

Troubleshooting

The Browser tab cannot record. What should I check?

Allow microphone access for the browser and confirm the intended microphone is available. You can use Upload instead if you already have a supported audio file.

I saved a recording but cannot find it on another agent’s account. Is that expected?

Yes. Personal recordings belong to the agent who created them. Administrators can listen to team recordings, but agents assign their own recordings to buttons.

Why does the button still use the old voicemail?

The recording must also be assigned in the disposition editor. Select Your Voicemail for This Button and click Save.
