Dial Amp / After a call

How to follow up after a Zoho sales call

Record the call outcome and complete the configured task or other follow-up without confusing a prompt with a saved action.

What you’ll accomplish

The result

A useful follow-up starts with an accurate disposition. Dial Amp can open a Zoho task form or run configured actions, but an opened task is not created until its form is saved.

Before you begin

  • The session is calling a Zoho Lead or Contact.
  • Your team has defined which dispositions correspond to follow-up work.
  • For configured CRM email or Sign actions, the agent has the required Zoho authorization and connection.

Access to have ready

Use an account with permission to access the Zoho CRM records and Dial Amp settings needed for these steps. The right access depends on your organization’s setup; ask your CRM administrator if you’re unsure.

Step-by-step instructions

Work through the steps in order. Each number marks an action in this tutorial.

  1. Finish the call and select an accurate outcome

Use the live call controls to finish the conversation, then choose the disposition that matches the result. Go live (Live Answer) only switches into live-call mode; it does not end the call or complete the outcome.

  2. Review the actions attached to the outcome

The selected disposition may run configured Zoho CRM actions or open Create Zoho Task after this disposition. Required call-screen fields must be populated before applicable configured actions can run.

  3. Complete and save the task form

If the Create Zoho Task dialog opens, confirm it is linked to the intended Zoho Lead or Contact, fill its required information, and save the form. The task is not created just because the dialog appeared.

When the disposition is set to move to the next contact, the next contact or call waits until the task form is saved or closed.

  4. Check authorization for email or Sign actions

If the disposition is configured to send a Zoho CRM template email, the agent must authorize the CRM connection. Zoho Sign uses a separate connection; authorize it separately if the workflow uses Sign.

  5. Confirm the call and next step

Confirm that the call has its disposition and that the separate follow-up you intended was saved or authorized. Call logging does not by itself prove that a task, email, or Sign action completed.

You’re done when…

Check your result

  • The call has an accurate disposition and is logged to its Zoho record.
  • Any opened Zoho task form was saved or intentionally closed.
  • The correct agent authorization and separate Sign connection are in place for configured actions.

Troubleshooting

Why is the next contact waiting after I selected the disposition?

If the outcome opens Create Zoho Task, the next contact or call waits for the form to be saved or closed. Complete the task form or close it intentionally.

Why did opening the task dialog not create a task?

The task is created only when its form is saved. Confirm it is linked to a Zoho Lead or Contact and save it.

Why did the email or Sign step fail while the call was logged?

The call activity and follow-up actions are separate. Confirm required call-screen fields, the agent’s Zoho CRM authorization for template emails, and the separate Zoho Sign connection.
